At CLS Strategies, Ruth applies years of professional communication experience to work across the firm’s practice areas, from international political campaigns to litigation to public affairs. Ruth joined CLS Strategies from the world of politics and issue advocacy.
Prior to joining CLS Strategies, Ruth served as communications director for the American Action Network and the Congressional Leadership Fund, an issue advocacy organization and a political organization in Washington, DC, respectively. During the 2016 presidential primary cycle, Ruth was the sole bilingual spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee where she served as Director of Hispanic Media. In addition to participating in countless of TV and Radio interviews, Ruth also conducted media training for elected officials, surrogates, and other stakeholders.
A Capitol Hill veteran, Ruth began her communications career as a press secretary for Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart representing South Florida and later as a communications director for Rep. Sam Johnson representing North Texas. In between her time on Capitol Hill, Ruth spent time in the nonprofit sector working in communications for a grassroots organization The LIBRE Initiative focused on the U.S. Hispanic community.
Ruth is a Texas native, fluent in Spanish, and holds a degree in political science from Texas Christian University.
