At CLS Strategies, Mona combines her expertise in international affairs with her experience in public affairs and public relations. She advises clients in the areas of public affairs, crisis communication and litigation.
Mona’s professional experience has spanned across the areas of foreign policy, refugee policy and healthcare policy. Prior to pursuing her master’s degree, Mona served as Marketing and Communications Specialist at The American Law Institute.
While in graduate school, Mona conducted research on the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of former Boko Haram members in Niger. She was a project participant on the issue with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations.
Mona also won awards at the UNICEF Egypt University Film Festival for her campaign film focusing on the international media’s effect on stereotyping Arabs before and after the Arab Spring, and at the Cairo Human Rights Film Festival for her short screenplay titled “The Sun Will Come Out.”
Mona graduated with an M.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University, and holds a B.A. in Communication and Media Arts from The American University in Cairo. She also studied International Human Rights Law during a short-term program at the University of Oxford Faculty of Law in England.
