CLS Strategies’ client Champagne Bureau, USA earned three AVA Awards

CLS Strategies’ client Champagne Bureau, USA earned three AVA Digital Awards for its digital and social media campaigns to promote Champagne in the U.S. and create awareness around the importance of protecting the Champagne name. The #ChampagneDay campaign and the “From Champagne to your Home” video won platinum awards, while the “Champagne Only Comes from Champagne” video won a gold award.

The Champagne Bureau, USA is the official United States representative of the Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC), a trade association that represents Champagne houses and grape growers from Champagne, France. CLS Strategies efforts on behalf of the CIVC are centered on two priorities - the promotion of Champagne wines and the protection of the Champagne name. At the core of this dual mission are our social media initiatives, which provide opportunities to spread our message and encourage online conversations on Champagne and wine location.

 

 

“The Champagne Bureau’s work has been remarkable this past year. We are extremely proud of our accomplishments, particularly regarding the promotion of Champagne in the United States and the awareness of the importance of protecting the ‘Champagne’ name,” said CLS Strategies Senior Vice-President Sam Heitner.

Champagne Day, which took place on October 23, 2015, is a special opportunity for wine lovers to raise a glass of the unique sparkling wine that only comes from Champagne, France. CLS Strategies is the driving force behind this grassroots campaign through its work for the Champagne Bureau, USA. This worldwide event leads people across the world to open a bottle or share a glass of Champagne, all under the #ChampagneDay banner. This year, the campaign broke records, with #ChampagneDay tweets reaching over 12.6 million Twitter accounts and generating an exposure of 131.3 million total views.

In addition to the stellar #ChampagneDay efforts, the CLS Strategies team produced two videos which the AVA Digital Awards honored. “Champagne Only Comes from Champagne, France” was developed to educate wine consumers in the United States in a fun and easy way about the unique qualities of Champagne and the importance of name protection. “From Champagne to your Home” was created to remind consumers that Champagne is a great addition to the holiday season. These two videos were integral to the Bureau’s overall strategy of promoting Champagne and protecting its name in “fun” and interactive ways.

 

 

The AVA Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes excellence by creative professionals responsible for the planning, concept, direction, design and production of digital communication. Entries are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals who base their evaluations on the quality, creativity and resourcefulness of the work product.
